Why is distance so important with DSL?Answered By Brayden Eckles, Editor - If the distance between the provider and the subscriber is less than 5,000 feet, there will be no problem in getting all speeds of DSL. - If the distance between the provider and the user range from 5,000-15,000 feet, there will be trouble in getting highest speed offered. - When the distance reached to 15,000-18,000 feet away from provider, ADSL is still available, although the speed will only reach for about 300-500 Kbps. - In between 22,000-28,000 feet away, a user can only use ordinary DSL equipment. But it's still possible to use DSL with this kind of length. - 28,000 feet and above, IDSL is the only choice. keywords: Broadband | High Speed Internet | Internet Access | DSL | ADSL
