Is DSL better than cable?

Answered By Brayden Eckles, Editor

While cable can offer faster connection than DSL, but only after neighbors are starting to get connections too and piles up, certainly DSL is a better choice for internet access and here's why.

- Speed - DSL speeds can range from 3 to 5 MB and even reach to 7 MB in some places.

- Expenses - Cable is more expensive with some corresponding fees and taxes on it.

- Reliability - Internet access in a DSL is more consistent than cables. Take note that when cable lines are used on the same time, the internet connection slows down.

- Security - DSL application is more secured than cable lines. DSL runs closed and dedicated circuits that is always on the connection. In cable lines, there's a possibility it will be hacked or stolen.

- Quality - unlike in cable lines, DSL access is not shared and never crowded.

- Uploading and Downloading - DSL offers faster rate in uploading and downloading files, videos, and audios.
