Wireless technology is a technology used for communication, where-in; to transmit data between two devices, low-powered radio waves are used. Communication is facilitated, chiefly using radio frequency and infrared waves. And no chord or cables are used. Wireless technology, today has grown into a large industry carrying thousands of broadcasts around the world. Optimal bandwidth routing with-in wireless networks has given way to a new wireless broadband technology. Broadband is the system of sending and receiving small packets of data, from one computer to a server computer and hence forth. Conventionally this data would get transferred using cables with high optical fiber. Data would flow via these cable wires like packets of information and get delivered and vise versa Now a relatively new technology known as wireless broadband is catching up. It aims at providing wireless access to data networks .However from the point of view of connectivity it is at par with broadband wired access, such as cable modems or ADSL. This technology is still being worked upon; hence to form an opinion about it at this stage would be incorrect. The advantages of a wireless system are many. It is being speculated that, with in a few years wireless broadband is estimated to have a potential to connect in a range for over 30 miles and several such features that will change the whole scenario of 'being online' Although the setting up cost and equipments required for wireless broadband technology are very expensive Wireless Internet Service Providers (WISP) are a popular option is rural areas where DSL`s or Cables are not available. Wireless technologies have always caught the fancy of man , however at this stage of infancy that wireless broadband today stand at , ADSL , regular wired broadband connections are a safer bet . As they are secure , reliable and most widely used .
